New Brand and Logo - OJCF shared brand elements of its new logo
Mezuzah
The Mezuzah represents strength, legacy, and impact. Just as we affix it to the doorposts to mark our values and commitments, OJCF affixes its values to the doorway of Jewish life - guarding what matters and ensuring a lasting legacy for generations.
Ner Tamid - Eternal Flame
The Eternal Light burns with continuity and sustenance. It reflects the sacred task of keeping our community’s flame alive through every season - steady, unwavering, and resilient.
Havdalah Candle
The Havdalah Candle, with its three wicks, represents past, present, and future; people, passion, and philanthropy - braided together just like the story of our community. The work of OJCF connections memory to mission, tradition to innovation, and wisdom to hope.
The world Havdalah comes from the Hebrew word Hamavdil, which translates to the one who makes change. This new brand represents partnership in changemaking, between community and individuals, between our past, present, and our future, and between people, passion, and philanthropy.

Julie Diamond Z"L Legacy Society Honorees, Ann and Robert Sacks
Longtime Portland residents, Ann and Robert met and married while at the University of Michigan before settling in Oregon in the early 1970s. Both brought a spirit of entrepreneurship and service to everything they touched. Ann built and led multiple successful businesses, including Ann Sacks Tile and Stone, Design and Direct Source, and FETCH Eyewear—an eyewear company that donates all profits to animal welfare. Robert practiced law for 25 years before turning to real estate development, focusing on revitalizing Portland neighborhoods through family-led ventures.
Their shared dedication to giving back culminated in the founding of The Pixie Project in 2007, alongside their daughter Amy. This Portland-based nonprofit has transformed the landscape of animal welfare, facilitating over 10,000 adoptions and providing thousands of low-cost or free veterinary procedures each year. With a deep understanding of how pets and people support one another, the Pixie Project also offers vital social services to individuals and families navigating pet ownership on limited incomes.
Ann and Robert have been pillars of the Portland Jewish community, serving on numerous boards and committees, including the Jewish Federation and OJCF, where they established the Ann and Robert Sacks Family Fund.
Above all, Ann and Robert are proud parents to David (married to Lesley) and Amy, and devoted grandparents to Elizabeth and Albert. Their work—whether in business, philanthropy, or community—is a testament to the values of community, generosity, compassion, and family.
